2023 2 Dollars (Toonie) Commemorative "National Indigenous Peoples Day" (Color)
BU (MS-69) SUPERB GEM Near Perfect
Description of the room
This 2023 Canadian $2 (Toonie) coin is the special commemorative issue in colourized version, celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day .
The reverse features a historic collaborative design by three artists: Megan Currie (English River First Nation), Myrna Pokiak (Inuvialuit), and Jennine Krauchi (Métis). The coloured version highlights key design elements, such as the central flower and symbolic details , through the selective application of ink to the coin's core.
The coin is certified MS-69 (Mint State 69) , a grade that positions it as a SUPERB GEM (Superb Jewel) or Near-Perfect . This quality is extremely difficult to achieve for a colored circulation coin. It is free of imperfections visible to the naked eye. Experts would only be able to detect one or two non-distracting microscopic imperfections . The color application is considered flawless .
The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the double commemorative year of her reign ("1952-2022").
