2023 2 Dollars (Toonie) Commemorative "National Indigenous Peoples Day" (Color)
BU (MS-68) Superb GEM +
Description of the room
This 2023 Canadian $2 coin (Toonie) is the coloured version of the commemorative issue honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day . The reverse is the result of a unique and historic collaboration between three artists: Megan Currie (English River First Nation), Myrna Pokiak (Inuvialuit), and Jennine Krauchi (Métis). Selective colouring on the coin's core highlights key design elements.
The coin is certified MS-68 (Mint State 68) , which places it in the "Superb GEM+" category. For a colored circulation coin, MS-68 is an exceptionally high-quality specimen. The coin is visually stunning and exhibits only extremely minor microscopic imperfections , often imperceptible to the naked eye. The color quality is flawless , and the specimen retains a brilliant and complete mint luster .
The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the double commemorative year of her reign ("1952-2022").
