BU (MS-68) Superb GEM +
Description of the room
This 2023 Canadian $2 (Toonie) coin is the commemorative issue honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day . The reverse features a historic collaborative design, the first of its kind, co-created by three artists: Megan Currie (English River First Nation), Myrna Pokiak (Inuvialuit), and Jennine Krauchi (Métis). The design intertwines powerful symbols representing their respective cultures.
The coin is certified MS-68 (Mint State 68) , which places it in the "Superb GEM+" category. This grade indicates exceptional collector quality . While not perfect (MS-70), it exhibits only extremely minor microscopic imperfections , often imperceptible to the naked eye and not distracting. The strike is crisp and precise , and the specimen retains a brilliant and complete mint luster .
The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the double commemorative year of her reign ("1952-2022").
