2023 2 Dollars (Toonie) Commemorative "National Indigenous Peoples Day"
BU (MS-67) Superb GEM
Description of the room
This 2023 Canadian $2 (Toonie) coin is the commemorative issue honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day . Its reverse design is the result of a unique collaboration between three artists: Megan Currie (English River First Nation), Myrna Pokiak (Inuvialuit) and Jennine Krauchi (Métis), combining powerful symbols from their respective cultures.
The coin is certified MS-67 (Mint State 67) , classifying it as "Superb GEM" (Superb Jewel). This grade represents exceptional quality for a circulating coin. The specimen retains a full and highly attractive mint luster . It exhibits an extremely limited number of microscopic imperfections (slight contact marks or minting flaws), which are undistracting and do not detract from its excellent visual appeal.
The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the double commemorative year of her reign ("1952-2022").
