The reverse design is by artist Gerald Gloade, who masterfully captured the power and terror of this legendary creature .

Historical Context
The legend of the werewolf in Canada has its roots in 18th century France. The famous Beast of Gévaudan, which caused hundreds of deaths in southern France, prompted King Louis XV to offer a bounty for its head . French settlers brought this legend to New France (now Quebec), where the creature is still known as the loup-garou . The Acadians also carried the myth with them to Louisiana, where the Rougarou is said to haunt the bayous .

Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coins feature a sharp strike, original luster, and surfaces free of circulation marks. This 2-ounce coin is a spectacular addition for any investor or collector attracted to North American folklore and supernatural themes.
