2009 Canada 25 Cents - Sledge Hockey
Vancouver Series 2010 — MS-63 Quality (Choice)
Description of the room
This 25-cent coin pays tribute to para ice hockey (sledge hockey), illustrating the strength and resilience of Paralympic athletes. While the mintage is generous, finding a specimen in MS-63 condition without the usual circulation marks is still an excellent addition for any Olympic series collector.
The Reverse Pattern
Artist Glenn Green captured the intensity of the sport by depicting a player in full exertion. Details of the equipment, including the sled and spiked poles, are precisely engraved. The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games logo accompanies the traditional stylized maple leaf.
The Obverse
The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. In this uncirculated condition, the triple plating (steel, copper, and nickel) retains all its brilliance and original protection against oxidation.
Quality and Grade MS-63 (Choice)
The MS-63 grade indicates a Choice BU coin. At this level, the coin has a full mint luster. While some contact marks from bulk shipping may be present, they do not detract from the coin's overall visual appeal.
