This 25-cent coin celebrates the elegance and discipline of figure skating, one of Canada's most popular sports. Issued as part of the Olympic circulation program, this coin is especially prized by collectors when kept in "Gem" condition, preserving the original fine details.

The Reverse Pattern

The design, by Glenn Green, depicts a figure skater performing a dynamic move. It incorporates a stylized maple leaf in the background and the official logo of the Vancouver 2010 Games (the Ilanaaq). In this MS-66 grade, the engraving details, particularly the skater's outline and the maple leaf's texture, are exceptionally sharp.

The Obverse

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by the artist Susanna Blunt. The portrait is surrounded by the official inscriptions and the face value. On a specimen of this quality, the finish is uniform and the fields exhibit a consistent luster, typical of coins that have never been handled in circulation.

Quality and Grade MS-66 (Gem +)

The MS-66 grade defines a Gem+ quality coin. Although these coins were minted for general circulation, an MS-66 example is distinguished by:
