2002-P Canada: 25 Cents Golden Jubilee (Effigy Machin)
UNC (Uncirculated) quality
Description of the room
This 2002 commemorative coin marks the 50th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To highlight this historic event, the Royal Canadian Mint used the effigy of Arnold Machin , featuring a classic royal profile with a tiara. Bearing the mint mark "P" , this coin is made of multi-layered plated steel. In uncirculated condition, it has never been in circulation and retains all of its original mint luster.
The Obverse (Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - Arnold Machin)
The obverse features a portrait of the Queen by Arnold Machin . It also displays the face value "25 CENTS" and the mint mark "P" to the left of the royal bust. The luster is bright and the details of the crown are perfectly preserved.
The Reverse (The Caribou and the Double Date)
The reverse features Emanuel Hahn's traditional Caribou design, but includes the double commemorative date "1952-2002" in the lower portion. In uncirculated condition, the reliefs are sharp and the coin's field displays a uniform luster.
