2001 Canada: 25 Cents Caribou (Without P)
BU (Brilliant Out of Circulation) Quality — Grade: MS-63 CHOICE
Description of the room
This 2001 25-cent coin is the classic version struck in pure nickel , as evidenced by the absence of the "P" mint mark beneath the Queen's effigy. As an MS-63 Choice example, this coin was selected for its superior preservation among the original strikes. It offers a richer and deeper luster than the steel version, characteristic of the Royal Canadian Mint's later pure nickel issues.
The Obverse (Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II)
The obverse features the effigy of Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The field is very clear, without the "P" mark, and displays a uniform rotating luster that highlights the relief of the royal portrait.
The Reverse
Emanuel Hahn's iconic Caribou motif is rendered with remarkable clarity. In MS-63 grade, the antler details and coat texture are perfectly preserved. The pure nickel's "white" luster gives this piece a distinctive and highly sought-after visual appeal.
