1987 Canada: 25 Cents Caribou
BU (Brilliant Out of Circulation) Quality — Grade: MS-62
Description of the room
This 1987 25-cent coin is a fine example in BU (Mint State) condition . In 1987, the Royal Canadian Mint was still using pure nickel for its 25-cent coins, giving them their prized, long-lasting white luster. The MS-62 grade indicates a coin that has never circulated, retaining its original mint luster, while also showing bag marks typical of a coin handled in bulk at the mint before being rolled.
The Obverse (Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II)
The obverse features the second effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin. The portrait is sharp and the luster is well-developed across the entire field, despite the minor surface marks inherent to the MS-62 grade.
The Reverse
It features the famous Caribou by Emanuel Hahn. The engraving is precise and the date "1987" is clearly defined. The highest relief areas show no signs of wear from traffic.
