Description of the room
This 1985 Canadian 25-cent coin is a circulating coin guaranteed to be in Uncirculated (UNC) condition. This means it has never been in circulation and shows no wear on the high points of the relief. It retains its original mint luster.
The coin features the classic Caribou motif on the reverse, designed by Emanuel Hahn. It is made of pure nickel (99.9% nickel).
UNC quality (Brilliant, non-circulating)
The UNC designation encompasses a range of qualities from grade MS-60 to MS-70 .
-
Absence of wear: The essential criterion is the total absence of wear from circulation. The coin retains the original luster of the mint.
-
Contact imperfections: A generic (ungraded) UNC part may exhibit a variable number of contact marks and minor scratches (known as "hairlines") that occurred during the forging, roll-forming, and bulk handling processes. The quality may be low (close to MS-60) or high (close to MS-65).
-
Visual appeal: The visual appearance may vary considerably, but it remains an unused room.
The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II .
