This commemorative circulation coin celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942), the immortal Canadian author of the novel Anne of Green Gables . The regular version emphasizes the fine engraving and the play of light on the metal.

The Reverse Pattern

The drawing, by artist Brenda Jones, shows L.M. Montgomery in profile as she wrote her famous masterpiece. The background depicts the Prince Edward Island landscapes that inspired her. It also features the writer's signature and the famous cat (Daffy) she loved to include in her drawings.

The Obverse

The coin features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
