Description of the room

This commemorative coin celebrates the 150th anniversary of Lucy Maud Montgomery 's birth. Unlike the regular version, this edition uses selective coloring technology to bring to life the landscapes that inspired the author of Anne of Green Gables .

The Reverse Pattern

Artist Brenda Jones's design depicts Montgomery writing. Color is applied to the Prince Edward Island landscape in the background, showcasing the blue hues of the sky and the lush green of the hills and trees. His iconic signature and cat are also featured, precisely engraved in the metal.

The Obverse

The coin bears the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.1 It is one of the few coloured circulation coins to feature the new royal portrait from its first full year of issue.
