2023 2 Dollars (Toonie) Commemorative "National Indigenous Peoples Day" (Color)

BU (MS-65) GEM

Description of the room

This 2023 Canadian $2 (Toonie) coin is the colourized version of the commemorative issue honoring National Indigenous Peoples Day .

The reverse features a historic collaborative design by artists Megan Currie , Myrna Pokiak , and Jennine Krauchi . Selective coloring on the coin's core highlights the vibrant cultural symbols of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

The coin is certified MS-65 (Mint State 65) , which represents the threshold for top-quality uncirculated ( Gem Uncirculated ). It is a high-quality specimen with a full and attractive mint luster . A coin of this grade may exhibit a small number of minor contact marks or slight minting flaws, but these are undistracting and do not detract from the overall visual appeal. The color application is considered to be of a good standard, although it may show minor imperfections upon examination.

The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the double commemorative year of her reign ("1952-2022").
