This 2023 Canadian $2 (Toonie) coin is a commemorative issue celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day . Its reverse features a unique design, the result of a historic collaboration between three artists: Megan Currie (English River First Nation), Myrna Pokiak (Inuvialuit Settlement Region), and Jennine Krauchi (Red River Métis).
The design is a rich fusion of First Nations, Inuit and Métis art, including strong symbolic elements.
The MS-70 (Mint State 70) certification is the highest possible grade and represents an absolutely perfect specimen . This coin shows no striking or handling imperfections , even under high magnification. Achieving MS-70 grade for a circulation coin is extremely rare , making it an exceptionally valuable collector's item.
