The Reverse (Tribute to Veterans)
The reverse, designed by artist Cosme Saffioti (the same artist who created the famous 2004 poppy), features a poppy and a stylized maple leaf with inscriptions paying tribute to veterans. The words "VETERANS" and "VÉTÉRANS" are included to emphasize the bilingual nature of this tribute. This understated and elegant design commemorates the sacrifice of the men and women who served Canada in wartime.
