2002 Canada: 25 Cents Canada Day
Quality AU (Almost Uncirculated)
Description of the room
This 2002 25-cent coin was issued specifically to celebrate Canada Day . The reverse features a festive and patriotic design. Unlike the Golden Jubilee coin minted the same year, this version retains the contemporary effigy of the Queen. In AU grade, the coin exhibits a still-present mint luster, with only slight handling marks on the highest points of the relief.
The Obverse (Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - Dora de Pédery-Hunt)
The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Canadian artist Dora de Pédery-Hunt (the Queen is not wearing a tiara, unlike the Machin effigy). The date "2002" is inscribed to the left of the bust. The coin's fields have a bright luster.
The Reverse (Canada Day)
The reverse features a stylized maple leaf design, the country's iconic symbol, surrounded by motifs celebrating Canadian identity. In AU quality, the engraving details remain crisp and precise. The coin's field retains much of its original luster.
