BU (MS-67) SUPERB GEM

Description of the room

This 2001 Canadian 5-cent coin is a remarkable specimen, graded MS-67 (Mint State 67) , placing it in the "SUPERB GEM" category . This grade is exceptionally difficult to obtain for circulation coins.

  • Key Variety: "No-P" (Without 'P' Mark) . In 2001, the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) struck coins with a "P" (for plated , indicating plating) under the effigy of Elizabeth II, but part of the mintage was struck without this mark, creating significant variety for collectors.

  • State (Grade): MS-67 (Mint State 67).

  • Condition : BU (Brilliant off-road) , guaranteed free from traffic wear.

The 2001 5 cent coin is made of nickel-plated steel . The reverse design is the classic Beaver .

Detailed MS-67 Quality

  • Luster: The striking luster is total, immaculate and vibrant .

  • Strike: The strike is exceptionally crisp and complete , with perfect definition of the details of the Beaver.

  • Imperfections: An MS-67 coin is nearly perfect. It has only one or two insignificant contact marks , which are invisible to the naked eye and scattered in non-critical areas. These flaws do not affect the coin's visual appeal in any way.

  • Visual Appeal: The appearance is spectacular, with exceptional clarity, very rare for a variety piece.

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 'P' is missing under the bust.
