Description of the room

This Canadian dollar, issued in 1992, is a commemorative circulation coin celebrating the 125th anniversary of Canadian Confederation . Unlike the regular loonie, this dollar features a special design.

This piece is highly sought after by collectors due to its unique design and history. The example described here is distinguished by its quality grade, certification, and unique coloring.

Obverse (reverse side)

The obverse of the coin is a work by the engraver Dora de Pédery-Hunt. It features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II with the inscription "ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA". What makes your coin unique is the mention of a "small rainbow look" on this side. This effect, often called "rainbow toning", is the result of a natural chemical process that occurs over time, adding a unique beauty and character to the coin.

Reverse (front side)

The reverse, designed by artist Rita Swanson, is a poignant image of Canadian pride. It depicts three children in front of the Parliament Buildings on Parliament Hill, proudly holding a Canadian flag waving in the wind. The Peace Tower can be seen in the background, and upon closer inspection, the clock on the tower reads 1:25 , a reference to the 125th anniversary of Confederation.

The designer's initials "RS" are visible in the lower right corner, just below the building.

Certification details
